04/11/16 "Frisk : Welcome to the Underground"

I discovered the RPG game "Undertale" a week ago. I was wondering why was everyone crazy about that game, so I decided to give it a chance and learn more about that popular game.

And it was awesome.

I just loved "Undertale", and I now understand why is became so popular. Everything about that game is such adorable and cute, it was a really fun adventure that everything a game needs to be amazing : mystery, adventure, plot twists, moral choices, and most of all really interesting characters and relationships between them, which makes the game really immersive and makes the player caring about them. You can explore two axes through the game, choosing the pacifist way or the violence one. Choosing to follow one or the other totally change the adventure, the ambiance and the characters's reactions to the player. That's why despite its cute side, "Undertale" has a more dark side to explore, and questions some moral themes and brings details that are really creepy when you notice them. Would you really kill some innocent ones just to discover a new face of the game, new battles, new dialogues ? Your choice will definitely affect the game if you take that path. Even if then you reset the world...

This little Frisk definitely makes me think about Alice, and the Underworld is her own Wonderland. She is supposed to be a genderless child but to me, the original character design didn't even make me question that statement, it was obvious for me that she was a little girl. This young child fell from the Mount Ebott in a mysterious cave, the only known entrance to the Underground, a world where all the monsters reside after they have been pushed by Humans to isolation and separated by a magic barrier to separate them definitely. Across her adventure, Frisk will meet a lot of characters really different and try to figure a way to get out of the Underground, choosing to save the Monsters or in contrary, to annihilate them all.

Anyway, I wish you will enjoy this drawing. I will probably make some others drawings about that universe, because I love the game, the protagonists' chara-design (lol) and I enjoy drawing something else than Humans.
